It is obvious this will be Sparta the myth rather than Sparta the authentic, but nearly naked muscles eeeee! Also I do not like how accent supression dampens Gerry's acting, you see the difference when he bellows and shouts; it feels like he's being leashed or something. Nearly naked beefy men, eeeeee! It is so very pretty despite being Frank Miller, nearly naked Y chromosones, eeee!
I have a horrific feeling I'm going to hate this movie, because I have such a fierce love for the story of Thermopylae and this, while pretty and badass, is so very, very far from authentic. For starters, just from reading accounts of the weight of the armor they carried, I'm pretty sure they did not fight naked.
And yet I will totally still be there opening day.
