Happy New Years
Goodbye 2005. Hello 2006.
2005 was so much better.

Dear people in charge of New Years celebrations,
I know fireworks are pretty'n'all, but I currently have a very barky dalmatian lying under my computer desk thanks to them. So maybe you know ease off a little.
Love,
Me.

*cough* I mean, happy new year thingie. :-)
Heard on the radio (or did I read it online?) this morning that for us here, 2006 will be a second longer than 2005. Something to do with syncing time or something like that. Apparently, they already added a second in 2005 in some other parts in the world. Or well, I heard something about the US, don't know about Australia. But it's randomly amusing to know that in some parts of the world the year 2005 lasted a bit longer and in other parts of the world 2006 lasts longer. (Yes, it entertained me for a whole *second*! ;-))
Sorry to hear about the fireworks. :-(
I don't have a pet, but I sympathise with what they have to go through, just because we humaaaans (to say in a Ferengi accent) decided this was a special occasion.

I just get the dog settled down and some idiot starts setting off illegal fireworks. *headdesk*
